Addictions..

Learning to deal with (and get rid of) a drug, drink or tobacco habit.

INTRODUCTION:

This section is all about dealing with various addictions.

Many people believe that only physically addictive drugs like heroin are difficult to stop using, but the simple fact is that the mind can become addicted to almost anything that makes you feel good, or prevents you from feeling bad...

Many people start out abusing various substances in the belief that they are 'stronger' than the drink or smoke or drug - yet as often as not, it is the addiction that conquers them.

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN THE CURE!

If you're not an addict, the best advice we can give you is - don't start! If peer pressure is forcing you into a habit, it takes far more strength to say NO than to say yes. Be strong - or if you are not strong, admit that you might be too weak to fight off an addiction, and say no for that reason alone.

An addiction is costly - in terms of money, of health and sometimes even of personal happiness, and it can cost the peace of mind of yourself and those you love. The cost of an addiction is too high - it is not worth the sacrifice.

"If someone offers you that first smoke - say NO. It's easier, trust me."
