A Tai Chi and Kung-Fu Exercise Program for Good Health, well-being and preventing disease..

Most of the Tai Chi and Kung Fu exercises in this program develop and strengthen not one but several of the body's internal systems and organs. Read on, below..

THE THIRD EXERCISE: EXERCISING THE TORSO..

This exercise manipulates and exercises the lower spine, and, by stimulating the nerves on either side of the spine, it benefits the entire nervous system. In doing so, it has a beneficial effect on virtually every system of the body. It also massages and flexes the bowels, aiding digestion.

Begin this exercise in the horse stance. Then lean a little forward and place both hands on your thighs, gripping them. This is the basic position for this exercise.

To begin, breathe in deeply.

STEP 1:

Now, exhaling slowly, bend outwards to your left..

..then (continuing to exhale) slowly turn your body clockwise until you are bending forwards, as shown below..

..finally, straighten your spine to return to the basic position. When you complete this movement, you should have exhaled completely and your lungs should be empty..

STEP 2:

Now you have returned to the basic position. Breathe in deeply again.

Now, do the same circular movement of the torso, while exhaling, except that now you do it to the right of your body..

After you have completed one movement to the left and one to the right, count it as one repetition. Do between 5 and 10.
