Master, how should one live?

Ah, a worthy question...

Here is a simple philosophy: To know how to live.. live with the knowledge of your own death.

What this means is that we all must die. Now suppose you somehow knew that you were going to die tomorrow - what would you do? You would make your arrangements, meet your friends, or do some particular thing that you've always wished to do...

  So why not do all that anyway? Why not live every day, every week, every month to the full, as if it was a treasure - as indeed it is!!

"Whether one lives one day longer or eighty years longer, every moment of life is precious and needs to be LIVED."

  And if you do that.. then you will find that you have lived, and lived well. And when death comes for you, you will be able to look him right in the eye and smile in his very teeth, and die well. There will be no fear of death in your heart... for at the moment of your death you will be able to look back and say, 'It WAS a good life!!'

"A good life, well lived; a good death, bravely met - what more could one possibly need?"

"The time of it's coming is irrelevant."
