Self Defense Training - Part Four:

Learning to use Unarmed Combat to deal with a Hostile Situation

A section on unarmed combat is an integral part of any self defense or martial arts instruction course. We concentrated on teaching you the use of concealed weapons first because we wished to give you the maximum effectiveness in a minimum of time. The unarmed combat moves that you will learn now are from several martial arts and have been included in this self defense instruction course for times when you have to defend yourself without a weapon. Technique 5) A Simple defense against a Choking Attack or Strangle.

This defense is a simple, useful, effective and easy-to-use unarmed combat defense against a choking attack or strangle..

The opponent is in front of you, and his hands are pressing down on your neck - so what do you do?

Well, this is a move probably known to every martial artist on the planet.. one simply breaks the fingers of his hands until he either releases his hold or has no fingers left (of course, one starts with the little fingers, which are easiest to break).

This move has two advantages. One (obviously), it gets the foe to release his hold. But just as importantly, it leaves him with broken fingers in each hand, thus making it difficult for him to hit you with those same hands in the immediate future.

Practice this technique a few times at least twice a week.
